Where I come from
I am French originally from Angers and Nantes, now living in Utrecht. I spent 10+ years as a frontend developer before moving into management. Along the way I worked at highly successful scale-ups like 360Learning and Spendesk, and I was a Solutions Engineer at the BBC.
What I do today
I am an Engineering Manager heading the Mobile squads at Pennylane. My job is not just to ship features. It is to make the whole team stronger. I keep user value top of mind, so what we build serves our customers and pays off for the business. My biggest theme right now is decentralization: ramping up teams inside and outside Mobile, building a platform strategy and training other EMs so Mobile scales beyond me.
How I lead
Trust is my foundation. I build it on purpose, through tailored 1:1s and a culture of radical candor where we have honest conversations and feedback is paramount. I stay technically close to the work. I read the technical explorations, review PRs and lead incidents, because I believe credibility is earned that way.
Unique added value
I am a person who unblocks and connects across the org. I orchestrate cross-functional work, remove blockers and lead incidents under pressure. I anticipate problems early through metrics and monitoring, before they become fires. One principle I have learned over the years is that less is more. Not every situation needs heavy structure, and my job is increasingly to step back and let people own their work.
Outside of work
Most of my time and energy goes to my family. I genuinely love guiding my two daughters to grow and learn. Before parenthood I travelled a lot, including a full year across Asia, Australia, the Pacific and South America. I also played a lot of sport: badminton (still do), running, squash and bouldering. More surprisingly, Bridge, the card game, is the constant thread though. I played competitively for almost a decade and still learn things today.
